Nature Nuts going on Hiatus!

During the past fall, Blue Jay staff conducted a survey of families with children between the ages of 9-12 and held a series of focus group meetings to redesign Blue Jay’s Public Program offerings for this particular age group. Many thanks to all the families that returned surveys, and particularly to the parents that came out to the park multiple evenings to discuss this important topic. The Focus Group was able to come to consensus that we should continue the programs that are well attended (Summer Camps, Scout Saturdays and Homeschool series) and reallocate the staff time currently spent on Saturday Nature Nuts. To this end, Nature Nuts will be going on hiatus for the next year, and “Blue Jay Days” will be added to the schedule on selected traditional school calendar holiday/workday days on alternating year-round school calendar tracks. Homeschool families will also be able to take advantage of these single-day “camp-like” days. Try it out and let us know what you think!
