Teen Talk 2007 to Focus on Sexual Health
11/15/2007
Teenagers (14 to 19-years-old) and their families are invited to join Wake County health education professionals for 12 hours of fun on Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Wake County Commons Building located at 4011 Carya Drive, Raleigh. From 7:00 p.m. Friday to 7:00 a.m. Saturday, food, freebies and frank talk about sex are on the agenda at the Teen Talk Lock-In 2007!
Every day 51 teens become pregnant in North Carolina. This is the ninth highest teen pregnancy rate in the United States. Research indicates that teens experience many social pressures in search of self worth, identity and a voice.
Let's Talk is designed to keep the lines of communication and education open between parents and teenagers to help foster discussions about making healthy choices and developing healthy lifestyles. Participants will learn about teen sexual health issues, and the importance of knowledge, attitudes and behaviors. Trained public health educators and teenagers will facilitate all workshops.
