Heritage Day to Celebrate Wake County's Unique History
10/7/2007
The State Fair is coming! Get in the fair spirit by attending Wake County Heritage Day, Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Historic Oak View County Park.
Heritage Day, featuring Youth Fair Day, is a celebration of Wake County’s agricultural and rural history, reminiscent of an ol’ time county fair. The annual event features live entertainment, heritage crafts, re-enactors, hayrides, historic farm equipment, cane pole fishing and live animals.
Heritage Day is presented in conjunction with the 4-H Youth Fair Day, which features animal judging and awards. The North Carolina Extension and Community Association will sell refreshments.
The event is free to the public and is sponsored by Historic Oak View and Wake County Cooperative Extension. Historic Oak View County Park is located in the Wake County Office Park, on Carya Drive just east of the Poole Road exit (Exit 15) off the I-440 Beltline.
