Saturday, December 1, 1 - 4 p.m. and Sunday, December 2, 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. – Model Train Display
Come and see an interactive model railway on display at the Southeast Regional Library. Mr. Jack Frame and friends, members of the National Model Railroad Association, will be demonstrating boxcar kit assembly, decaling railroad cars, and cleaning engines and car wheels. There will be an operating model railroad, a small railroad diorama, and engines, freight, and passenger cars on display. This program is recommended for ages 12 to adult. Friday, December 7, 6 - 7 p.m. – Holiday Movie Bash
Bring the entire family to enjoy a holiday movie classic at the West Regional Library. A mean, green creature learns a lesson when he tries to find a way to keep Christmas from coming - but how? Monday, December 3, 7 p.m. – Planning for College
Getting into college takes a lot of work. Help your child plan and apply for college by attending a workshop at the West Regional Library. Come learn about the tools provided from representatives of the state-funded College Foundation Organization. To register for the session, call 463-8500. Wednesday, December 5, 7 p.m. – Beating the Holiday Blues
The holiday season can be a joy for many but stressful for others. This program is designed to identify ways to break patterns of depression and overwhelming stress that can occur during the holiday season. Join Debbie Lawson, Wake County Human Services clinician, to discuss tips for overcoming holiday blues and increasing enjoyment during this season. For more information, call 856-6703. Sunday, December 9, 2 p.m. – Cookie Houses
Learn how to build a holiday cookie house. Patrons, ages 18 and up, are invited to take part in this fun seasonal activity at the West Regional Library. Saturday, December 15, 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. – Resume Building
Need a resume makeover? Come learn how to do it yourself using Microsoft Word. This class will cover templates and the resume wizard. You'll be able to start a resume in class, so come prepared with notes on your work experience and other information. To reserve a space, call 870-4000.
