Absentee Voting By Mail Ends Tuesday, Oct. 2; One-Stop Early Voting Continues

Wake County residents who want to vote by mail only have until October 2 (TOMORROW) to request a ballot. The voter (or a near relative) may send a written request for an absentee ballot to the Wake County Board of Elections, P.O. Box 695, Raleigh, N.C. 27602. The letter must include the voter’s name, date of birth, home address, address where the ballot should be mailed (if different than the residence address), daytime telephone number and the voter’s signature.

Written requests must be received in the Wake County Board of Elections office no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2007. Ballots will be mailed within one to two days after receipt of the request. To be counted, the voted ballot must be received in the Board of Elections office by 5 p.m. on October 8, 2007. One-Stop (Early) Voting continues through Saturday, October 6, at the Board of Elections Office in Raleigh and the Herbert Young Community Center in Cary.
