Book Sale Nov. 15-19 in New Location; Offers More Than 500,000 Books for $4 or Less

11/9/2006

The annual Wake County Public Library Book Sale is moving to a new location and offering expanded hours to accommodate the sale of more than 500,000 books! The sale will be Wednesday, November 15, through Sunday, November 19, in the former Super Kmart on U.S. 64-Business East (New Bern Avenue) between Corporation Parkway and New Hope Road.

In addition to a larger selection, this year’s sale offers easier parking and extended hours. For the opening three days of the sale, hours will be: Wednesday, November 15, from noon until 9 p.m., and Thursday, November 16, and Friday, November 17, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Prices these three days are $4 for hardbound books and $1 for paperbacks.

On Saturday, November 18, the sale will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Prices will be reduced to $2 for hardbound books and 50 cents for paperbacks. On Sunday, November 19, the sale continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with bargain prices: $2 a bag and $5 a box (Wake County Public Libraries provides the bags and boxes).

Shoppers may bring hand trucks and/or carts. Please note that only cash and personal checks are accepted as payment.

The books available through the Book Sale consist of books donated to libraries throughout the county during the year and books that have been removed from the libraries’ shelves because of decreased demand. Profits from the sale contribute to the Wake County Public Libraries’ revenue and help to determine the book budget for the upcoming year.
