Wake County Child Support Enforcement Office Closes Oct. 5, 6 & 9 to Relocate from Courthouse to Akins Building
10/4/2006
Wake County's Child Support Enforcement (CSE) office will be closed to the public October 5, 6 and 9 as it relocates from the Wake County Courthouse to the adjacent Waverly F. Akins Wake County Office Building. Child Support Enforcement has been located on the eighth floor of the Courthouse and will now call the eighth floor of the Akins Building home, in Suite 800.
Any clients scheduled to be in court Monday, October 9, regarding child support issues must still attend court that day, and the Wake County CSE office will be able to work with them. All other public inquiries will be addressed once the office completes its move and reopens Tuesday, October 10.
"We want to reassure our clients that we will be able to meet their needs once our move is complete," said Lillian Overton, Wake County CSE manager. "We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our relocation, which is necessary in order for the demolition and renovation work that is under way in the Courthouse."
During the move, the CSE computers and telephones will not be operational. The North Carolina Child Support Enforcement Call Center at 1-800-992-9457 will be fielding calls for Wake County during the three-day closure. Once the move is completed, Wake County CSE will reopen to the public Tuesday, October 10, in its new location, Suite 800 of the Akins Building, 336 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh.
Notices concerning the closure and relocation have been mailed to CSE clients over the past few weeks. The CSE mailing address and phone number remain unchanged. To reach the office by mail or phone (as of October 10), send inquiries to Wake County Child Support Enforcement, P.O. Box 550, Raleigh, NC 27602 or call 919-856-6630.
