Wake EOC Monitors Ernesto Overnight

As rain from Tropical Storm Ernesto continued to intensify, the Wake County Emergency Operations Center monitored the storm track and stood by to coordinate any emergency response and rescue efforts that was needed overnight.

Four people checked into the Enloe High School Shelter overnight. The shelter closed at 7:00 a.m. Friday morning.

The American Red Cross will open a shelter at the United Methodist Church in Garner at 8:00 a.m. for people who may need to evacuate their homes Friday, and to provide continued assistance for other individuals if needed.  The church is located at 201 Methodist Drive, which is just off Hwy. 70, Vandora Springs Road exit in Garner.

Emergency officials urge citizens to never attempt to drive through water over roadways.
Call 9-1-1 if you are experiencing an emergency.
