Knitters to Demonstrate Their Craft at Free Seminar
11/2/2005
Come and learn how an old craft still flourishes today as North Regional Library hosts a knitting demonstration on Tuesday, November 15, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
The program will feature members from the Twisted Threads Fiber Arts Guild and will involve at least three different types of spinning:
- Hand or Drop Spindle
- Charka
- Hand Knitting
The spinning guild will use a variety of fibers and materials to demonstrate their craft, such as angora, goat, mohair, alpaca and even dog hair. Participants will learn to spool knit and will take home a sample of what they make.
Members of the guild will be on hand to answer any questions about knitting.
Pre-registration is required for this free seminar. Contact Adult Services at North Regional Library, (919) 870-4000. The library is located at 200 Horizon Drive, off Six Forks and Sawmill roads, near the Celebration at Six Forks shopping center in North Raleigh.
