Wake County Libraries' Fall Book Sale Offers More Than 300,000 Books for $4 or Less

10/14/2005

It's autumn, and that can only mean one thing: it's time for the Wake County Public Libraries Fall Book Sale! This year's sale will be held November 17-20 at the former Raleigh Office Supply Building, 712 Tucker St. in Raleigh. This location is in the "Glenwood South" district between Glenwood Avenue and St. Mary's Street. This is the fifth sale in this inside-the-Beltline location.

More than 300,000 books for all ages will be on sale, and proceeds are returned to the county to purchase new library books, system-wide.

Admission to the sale is free for the public. Parking is at a premium, but customers may drive up to the front-door loading zone upon finishing their shopping. Shoppers can also bring hand trucks or book carts to use.

Prices decrease as the sale progresses. On Thursday, November 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday, November 18, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., premium prices will be $4 for hardbound books, $1 for paperbacks.

On Saturday, November 19, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., prices drop to $2 for hardbound books, 50 cents for paperbacks, and on Sunday, November 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., bargain prices are $5 a box, $2 a bag. The library will provide boxes and bags and the customer packs them.
