Seeking Project Proposals

6/4/2004

The Raleigh City Council and the Wake County Board of Commissioners are beginning a competitive process to consider prioritization of project proposals for possible allocation of uncommitted funds from the hotel/motel and prepared food and beverage tax revenue. The City of Raleigh and Wake County may allocate funding for projects that meet the intent of the enabling legislation.

If you are interested in applying for these funds, see above information related to timetable, potential criteria for evaluating proposals, revenue stream and application process. In addition, the following guidelines are provided to communicate the intent of the City of Raleigh and Wake County in the allocation of limited funding:

  • The focus on the allocation will be on projects that will generate tourism and will have an economic impact.
  • There is no minimum or maximum on funding that can be requested. Multi-year funding scenarios will be considered.
  • Projects submitted for consideration for funding should have a solid Business Plan for addressing ongoing operational expenses.
  • The timetable for this process is:

Projects Proposals are due June 30, 2004

Evaluation and Recommendations by Staff July 16, 2004

Presentations of Proposals to Governing Boards August, 2004

Funding Prioritization Decision by Governing Boards August 24, 2004
