Absentee by Mail Ends

If you plan to vote absentee by mail, you have only until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, to have the request in the Board of Elections Office. You may submit a letter to request an absentee ballot that should include the voter's name, date of birth, residence address, address to which the ballot should be mailed (if different than the residence address), daytime telephone number and the voter's signature.

The voter or the voter's near relative may send a written request letter to the Wake County Board of Elections office, PO BOX 695, Raleigh, NC 27602. Ballots will be mailed within one to two days after receipt of the request. To be counted, the voted ballot must be received in the Board of Elections office by 5 p.m. on the day before the election, which is November 1.

One-Stop (Early Voting) continues at the Board of Elections Office, 337 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh, NC, Monday through Friday -- 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Board of Elections Office will also be open Saturday, October 23, Sunday, October 24, and Saturday, October 30 – 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

You may also visit one of the 12 One-Stop Absentee Sites throughout the County starting on Saturday, October 23, and continuing through October 30. Registered Wake County voters may vote at any of the sites.
