More One-Stop Sites

10/20/2004

Wake County registered voters will find an absentee voting site near them beginning Saturday, Oct. 23, when the County's Board of Elections opens 12 One-Stop Absentee voting sites in addition to the main site operating in downtown Raleigh.

One-stop voting, which allows registered voters to cast a ballot in advance for the General Election, will continue through Oct. 30.  No votes are tallied until after the polls close at 7:30 p.m. on November 2.

The Board of Elections' site has served more than 1,000 voters each day since opening on Oct. 14. This site, plus the 12 satellites, will be open both weekend days on Oct. 23 and 24 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.  During the week, the downtown Raleigh BOE office observes regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., while the satellite locations will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. to better serve workers during lunch hours and commuters on their way home.

The Board of Elections' site is located at 337 S. Salisbury Street. The remaining schedule for this site is:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 22: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 23, and Sunday, Oct. 24: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 25, through Friday, Oct. 29: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 30: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
