Flu Shots on Hold

Due to the flu vaccine shortage, Wake County Human Services has temporarily suspended all of its flu clinics. Any future availability of the vaccine will be for high-risk populations, as defined under the new guidelines issued today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
"We will continue to assess the situation, and as soon as more vaccine becomes available, we will notify the public," said Gibbie Harris, Wake County Community Health director.
For a list of area sites that are offering the vaccine, click here. Residents are advised to call for vaccine availability before going.
The suspension for all Wake County Human Services flu clinics includes the10 Sunnybrook Drive clinic, the Friday clinic at Eastern Regional Center in Zebulon and the Tuesday clinic at Southern Regional Center in Fuquay-Varina.
