Wake Reads Together Voting
10/1/2004
For the third consecutive year, Wake County Public Libraries is sponsoring Wake Reads Together. The program is a community-wide initiative that promotes having everyone in the County read the same book at the same time and then come together to discuss the themes and issues of the selected book.
Voting for the five nominated titles is occurring October 11-31, 2004. Readers may cast a vote by visiting any public library for a ballot or by going online at www.wakegov.com/readstogether. Voting means that one is recommending one of the following titles for countywide exploration.
The five choices from which to choose include:
-
Clay's Quilt by Silas House
-
The Color of Water by James McBride
-
Tortilla Curtain by T. Coraghessan Boyle
-
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon
-
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
The winning title will be announced in early January 2005, and programs and events will follow through March.
