Foster Picnic Canceled

Due to the projected path of Hurricane Charley, Wake County Human Services has postponed its annual picnic for foster families, originally scheduled for Saturday.
The 24th Annual Foster Family Picnic and Baking Contest was to be held at the N.C. State Fairgrounds Community Center Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 14. Organizers estimate 300 foster parents and children were planning to attend the event.
The rescheduled date of the celebration will be announced in the future.
