Animals of Courage Contest

8/4/2004

Does your pet have a "tail" to tell? Now is your chance to let the world know about your companion animal's life experience, as the Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center hosts its first Companion Animals of Courage essay contest.

In conjunction with the PAWS for Companion Animals "Protection Animals We Salute" Remembrance and In Honor of Walk, to be held September 11 at Historic Oak View County Park, the Animal Care Center is asking pet owners to submit a photo and one-page essay describing their pet's life experience.

"If your pet has given back to the community through service work or has overcome a physical or emotional challenge, we want to hear from them!" said Mykol Hill, Paws Coordinator.

The Companion Animals of Courage contest is open to all residents of North Carolina. All entries must be received by midnight, August 31, 2004, to be eligible. Submit a photo and one-page essay via e-mail at couragecontest@co.wake.nc.us.
