Shelter in National Contest
7/20/2004
Cats can’t vote, so they need your help! Cast your vote online for the Wake County Animal Control Shelter and help make it a happier place for wayward felines. Wake County is among the finalists in the Purina Friskies® for More™ Cat Habitat Shelter Program.
The shelter is one of 20 finalists selected from among more than 600 shelters across the country by a team of judges based on selection criteria that included the current condition of their habitat, last renovation and annual budget. Online voting at www.friskies.com/living/habitat.aspx will help determine the 10 in-need shelters that will each receive a $10,000 grant from Friskies for a new cat habitat.
Upon visiting the Web site, click on the “View the shelters now!” button, scroll over the thumbnail photos at the bottom of the screen until you see the “Raleigh, NC” thumbnail, and then click on the thumbnail and follow the on-screen instructions to cast your vote.
Voting is limited to one vote per day (within a 24-hour period) per person or household or e-mail address from now until August 20.
