All Wake County Government offices will be open for business on Friday, September 19; however, residents are encouraged to call ahead to the Public Libraries, Parks and Human Services to determine if the facilities have power and if appointments can be honored.
The shelter at Cary Senior High School will close at 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18. Shelters operated by Wake County at Garner High School, East Wake High School and Enloe High School will be closing Friday, September 19, as residents are able to return to their homes. Residents should call the Emergency Operations Center before going to any of the shelters on Friday.
All Human Services emergency and crisis services (e.g., Child Protective Services, Crisis and Assessment Services, South Wilmington Street Center) will continue to be operational.
All Wake County Solid Waste Management Facilities anticipate opening according to normal schedules on Friday, September 19. Be advised that individual Wake County Convenience Centers may be delayed due to localized damage.
The Solid Waste Management Division will assess facility conditions Friday morning, and urges citizens, waste haulers and local governments to stay tuned to media announcements for any new developments. This update applies to the following facilities:

North Wake Landfill and Multi-Material Drop Off Facility

South Wake Transfer Station, Feltonsville Construction and Demolition Landfill and South Wake Multi-Material Drop Off Facility

Wake County Convenience Centers.
Please be advised that Wake County Convenience Centers are for residential use only and do not accept yard waste or tree debris.
