HOUSING FAIR REACHES FOR THE DREAM
Affordable housing – whether someone is buying or renting – can be found in Wake County, and the Wake Housing Resource Center will show citizens how at the second annual Renters and First-Time Homebuyers Housing Fair. On Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the N. C. State Fairgrounds in the Kerr Scott Building, Wake County residents can meet with lenders, builders, realtors, down-payment assistance and credit counselors, property managers and city and county housing representatives. The Fair is free and open to the public.
Fairgoers will be able to:

Apply for mortgage loans

Complete rental applications with local property managers

Interview real estate companies

Talk with certified credit counselors

Get information on down-payment assistance programs

Attend workshops on first-time homebuying, credit restoration and getting ready to rent.
For every family that succeeds in finding affordable housing, many others are disappointed, sometimes unnecessarily. Affordable housing is available, and a little navigation assistance can help more families realize the American dream.
