Nursing Home Forum

Wake County Government and the Wake County Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee (NHCAC) will sponsor a forum Monday, October 13, aimed at improving conditions for nursing home residents. The 2003 Wake County Nursing Home Symposium will take place at the Wake County Commons Building, 4011 Carya Drive in Raleigh, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Nursing home staff from facilities around the county will meet to exchange experiences, ideas and best practices. Workshops and a panel discussion will promote better relations and mutual understanding toward the NHCAC goal of improving conditions for nursing home residents.

Among the topics to be discussed are innovative practices, addressing staff turnover and retention, engaging residents in fun activities and hosting family councils.

The Wake County Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee advises the Board of Commissioners on the status of nursing home operations and services in Wake County.
