Howl-O-Ween Contest
10/9/2003
The Wake County Animal Shelter at 820 Beacon Lake Drive, Raleigh, invites the public to participate in a "Howl-O-Ween" costume contest for adopted shelter animals Friday, October 31, at 3 p.m.
Register any animal adopted from the Wake County Animal Shelter by sending a photo by October 28, or bring your animal to the shelter on October 31. Prizes will be given for "Best Costume," Scariest Pooch" and "Cutest Costume." All participants will receive a gift bag.
October is Adopt-An-Animal Shelter-Dog Month, and the Wake County Animal Shelter encourages residents to consider adopting a new best friend and enter into the Howl-o-ween contest. Previous Wake County Animal Shelter adopters may enter, too. During this month the shelter would like to raise awareness of the more than 8,000 animals received annually at the Wake County Animal Shelter.
The Wake County Board of Commissioners, at its regular meeting on October 20, will honor the Animal Shelter with a proclamation for "National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week," November 2-8, 2003.
