Weather Closings

Because of anticipated high wind and rain from Hurricane Isabel this afternoon, all Wake County Public Libraries and Wake County Parks will close today at 12 noon. In addition, all Wake County Human Services clinics will close at noon today, Wake County Cooperative Extension offices closed at 11 a.m., and the Wake Register of Deeds office will close today at 3 p.m.
Two shelters operated by Wake County Government are now open at Garner High School, 2101 Spring Drive in Garner, and East Wake High School, 5101 Rolesville Road in Wendell. Unless otherwise noted, Wake County Government offices are open on regular schedule today.
All Human Services buildings, including clinics, will be closed at 12 noon except for emergency and crisis services (e.g., Child Protective Services, Crisis and Assessment Services, South Wilmington Street Center).
Wake County Solid Waste Management facilities closed at 10 a.m. today. The following exceptions apply:

North Wake Municipal Solid Waste Landfill will close at 11 a.m. today.

Wake County Convenience Center #5 at 8117 Battle Bridge Road, is closed.
The Solid Waste Management Division will monitor weather conditions throughout the day on Thursday and Friday morning, and advises citizens, waste haulers and local governments to anticipate possible delayed opening of facilities on Friday, September 19. This bulletin applies to the following facilities:

South Wake Transfer Station, Feltonsville Construction and Demolition Landfill

South Wake Multi-Material Drop Off Facility
