Board of Commissioners Sets 2003 Meeting Schedule

The Wake County Board of Commissioners today set its 2003 meeting schedule.  The meetings will be held on the first and third Mondays of the month (unless changed for holidays or other reasons), beginning at 2 p.m. in Room 700, Wake County Courthouse, downtown Raleigh.

A public comment period for citizens to address the Board will be held from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Citizens wishing to address the Board are asked to sign up to speak, though the floor will be opened to those who did not sign up if a request is made during the comment period.  After the public comment period, the Board will continue with any unfinished agenda items.

The meetings for 2003 will be held on the following dates:

- Monday, January 6 and Tuesday, January 21 (changed from Monday, January 20 due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday)

- Monday, February 3 and Monday, February 17

- Monday, March 17 (the first meeting of this month is canceled to avoid conflict with a national annual legislative conference)

- Monday, April 7 and Monday, April 21

- Monday, May 5 and Monday, May 19

- Monday, June 2 and Monday, June 16

- Monday, July 7 and Monday, July 21

- Monday, August 4 and Monday, August 18

- Tuesday, September 2 (changed from Monday due to Labor Day) and Monday, September 15

- Monday, October 6 and Monday, October 20

- Monday, November 3 and Monday, November 17

- Monday, December 1 (there is no second meeting scheduled this month)

The Board also plans to schedule quarterly work sessions at various locations throughout the County.
