Two Shelters Open in Wake
Two emergency shelters opened at 4 p.m. TODAY, Wednesday, February 12, 2014, for people affected by the winter weather:
Apex Methodist Church
100 S. Hughes St., Apex

Garner United Methodist Church
201 Methodist Drive, Garner
These shelters are not equipped to provide life-sustaining medical support. Those with special needs should call 919-856-7044.

Healthy dogs and cats should be comfortable in homes without power in the temperatures that are anticipated this evening. If necessary, non-service dogs and cats in crates may be brought to these shelters.

At this time, the Wake County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will remain at level three. This means that equipment and personnel are responding and the EOC is staffed on a continual basis. This staffing includes a call center that is available to handle non-emergency calls in English and Spanish. The call center phone number is 919-856-7044. People should call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
