Wake County Suspends Human Services Client Services

All Wake County Human Services client services were suspended at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, in preparation for and anticipation of the effects of Hurricane Florence. This includes public health clinics, the Woman, Infant and Children program (WIC) and and all other client services in the building. All buildings are tentatively expected to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17.

A system alert was sent to clients with appointments scheduled for Thursday and Friday to notify them of the cancelations. People should call 919-250-4720 to find out the status of the building closures and to reschedule appointments.

If you are having a medical emergency, please call 911.

Residents should monitor news reports and weather forecasts to see how the storm is progressing and better understand how it may impact Wake County. They are also encouraged to sign up to receive ReadyWake emergency alerts. They can choose to get important information delivered directly to them by text, email or phone. Signing up is easy at readywake.com.

Wake County residents who have non-emergency questions or issues can contact Wake County at 919-856-7044.
