Residents Struggling to Heat Their Homes Can Apply for Wake County’s Energy Assistance Program

Not all Wake County residents return home to a heated house in the winter. The Low Income Energy Assistance Program is an effort to ease the financial burden of utility payments for low-income families in Wake County.

Residents who qualify for LIEAP receive one-time financial heating assistance. Any household that meets LIEAP’s requirements can receive these benefits, and Wake County encourages residents who are struggling to pay their heating bills to apply.

LIEAP applications are now being accepted, as of Jan. 1, 2018, and will continue to be accepted through March 31, 2018, or until funds are exhausted.

Applications are available online, and residents can submit completed applications in person or via email, mail or fax.

For more information, visit our website or contact LIEAP at LIEAP@wakegov.com or 919-212-7370.
