Hopeful Adoptive Families Will Find Resources at Wake County’s Adoption Information Fair

The adoption process can feel daunting, but families thinking about adopting a child can access helpful resources at the Wake County Human Services second annual Adoption Information Fair.

The Adoption Information Fair will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wake County Commons Building, located at 4011 Carya Drive in Raleigh. Families at any point in the adoption process, from those exploring adoption to post-adoptive families, will find the information they need to enhance their adoption experience. This event is also open to families who live outside of Wake County.

Successful adoptive families will be present to discuss their personal experiences, provide insights and answer questions. Additionally, attendees will learn about Wake County’s waiting children, the home study process and general adoption services.

Event attendees will also have the chance to meet and interact with Wake County’s Adoption Team, the Post Adoption & Eligibility Team and youth participants involved in Wake County’s LINKS Program.  Representatives from many partner agencies will also be present to share information about their services, including Wake County Guardian ad Litems Program, Center for Child & Family Health, Children’s Home Society of North Carolina, Methodist Home for Children, Lutheran Services Carolina, N.C. Kids and Seven Homes, Inc

These opportunities for personal interaction are unique draws for families that want more than an information packet to support their journey with adoption.
