Charles P. Gilliam Announced as Register of Deeds

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, April 10, 2017

Tonight the Wake County Republican Party's Executive Committee selected former Judge Charles Gilliam to replace Wake County Register of Deeds Laura Riddick.
Riddick announced her resignation on March 31st due to health problems, and that made choosing her replacement the job of Wake GOP.
"We are proud to choose Charles Gilliam to fill this seat," said Charles Hellwig, Chairman of the Wake County Republican Party. "He is a man of honor, a former judge, and a longstanding member of the Wake County Republican Party," Hellwig continued. "He will make an outstanding Register of Deeds and is the right person to take the job at this time."
After the Executive Committee meeting, Charles Gilliam said: "I am honored to accept the appointment as Wake County Register of Deeds and I pledge to provide the people of our county with the reliable service they deserve. Our hearts and prayers go out to Laura Riddick who has served the people in Wake County for so many years."
The committee met in executive session and thus the discussions tonight are not for the public, but everyone on the committee felt the former Judge was a great selection, and chose him from a field of very qualified applicants.
