Wake County Waives Building Permit Fees After Hurricane Matthew

Wake County property owners who sustained damages from Hurricane Matthew will get some relief to make repairs. During its regularly-scheduled board meeting on Monday, Oct. 17, the Wake County Board of Commissioners approved a request to waive certain development permit fees.

Property owners who are making repairs that require a permit for damage caused by the storm will not be required to pay the permit fees. Types of repair include roofing, exterior doors and windows, siding, mechanical, plumbing and electrical.

The permit fee waiver will be valid until Jan. 31, 2017.

For information, visit the county’s Planning, Development and Inspections webpage or call 919-856-6060.
