Emergency Operations Center Closes
Call Center No Longer Active, Call 9-1-1 in an Emergency

The Wake County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) closed at 10 a.m., today, Monday, January 25, 2016, as the need for winter storm response coordination within Wake County has decreased.

Citing a decreased need from residents affected by the winter storm, the American Red Cross closed a shelter that was in operation at Apex United Methodist Church.

EOC staff will continue to monitor conditions as needed. The call center phone number will no longer be answered. People should call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

Residents are encouraged to pay close attention to the local radio and television stations for information specific to Wake County and their specific town and to stay at home and off the roads until driving conditions improve.
