Maiorano Chosen as Wake County Human Services Deputy Director

AnnemarieMaioranoWEB.jpgWake County has selected Annemarie Maiorano to serve as the new Deputy Director of Operations for its Human Services Department. This is a promotion from her previous role as Director of Wake County's Housing and Transportation Division.

"Annemarie's background in city and regional planning, and her experience working with our community partners, as well as elected officials, make her a great fit for this important leadership position," said Wake County Human Services Director Regina Petteway. "I look forward to working with her to strengthen the health and well-being of Wake County residents."

Maiorano has worked for the Wake County Human Services Department for 20 years, holding a variety of positions including Housing Planner and Community Development Director. During that time, Maiorano generated a reputation for building effective relationships with community organizations, private-sector groups and nonprofit agencies to further the goal of creating affordable housing in Wake County.

Maiorano received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Villanova University, and has a Master of City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University's Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.

In her new role, Maiorano is responsible for assisting the Human Services Director with the coordination and oversight of agency-wide functions. She started her new position on Nov. 2.
