Harris Lake County Park to Host Longleaf Festival

Harris Lake County Park is hosting its 6th annual Longleaf Festival to celebrate the history and importance of the longleaf pine, Saturday, May 2, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Take a wagon ride to the 60-acre Longleaf Pine Management Area. Many agencies and organizations will have educational and interactive exhibits. Enjoy fun festival activities, live animals, games, crafts and more. Check out the bulldozer, fire engine and prescribed burn equipment to learn about the importance of fire in the life of the longleaf pine.

Lunch will be served at the Chick Wagon food truck and live entertainment will be provided by the Kudzu Ramblers and A Touch of Dixie.

This event is free and does not require preregistration. Visit the website to find out more and to see the list of over 20 exhibitors that will be in attendance.
