BEST Conference Registration Open Through Friday

Wake County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) recently opened registration for the annual Business Environmental & Safety Training (BEST) Conference. The conference will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the McKimmon Center, North Carolina State University, 1101 Gorman St., Raleigh. Registration ends on Friday, January 23, 2015.

"The conference is the primary outreach of LEPC and gives us the opportunity to strengthen the partnerships between responders, the industry, institutions of higher learning and the communities they serve," said Wake County Emergency Management Director Joshua Creighton.

The conference is designed for professionals involved with:

  • environmental compliance and reporting,
  • industrial hygiene,
  • safety and health, and
  • emergency planning and response.

The LEPC is a federally mandated committee with membership from local businesses, emergency response groups, media, hospitals, environmental interest groups and universities. The mission is to effectively plan for emergencies involving hazardous materials. The LEPC meets quarterly, and the public is invited to attend.

Visit the LEPC website to register or for more information about the BEST Conference.
