Libraries Host Early Childhood Financial Education Celebration

Smart Choices, Great Fun
As part of the Grow Up Great grant from PNC, Wake County Public Libraries will offer free special programs for preschool children and their parents in December 2014 that teach lessons in spending, sharing and saving and that encourage parents to reinforce those lessons at home.

Libraries will host an early childhood financial education celebration that will include the preschool program "The Gingerbread Boy," performed by Rags to Riches Theatre, followed by simple activities for preschool children and their families. Rags to Riches adapts this classic fairy tale, following the Gingerbread Boy down the road to making his fortune. Along the way he measures wants versus needs and makes many choices.

Program attendees will receive a "For Me, for You, for Later" financial education kit, developed by Sesame Workshop for PNC as part of a continuing partnership in early education.

Programs will be held as follows:

Date Location
Friday, December 5, 10:30 a.m. North Regional

For more information about these programs contact your local library or view the Libraries events page.
