Wake County Libraries launched the "Every Reader Ready to Succeed" campaign in January. The programs provide educational and entertaining activities that nurture the love of reading, reinforce literacy skills and encourage creative thinking for children kindergarten through fifth grade.
“Every Reader Ready to Succeed is a great program that has public libraries and schools working together to create experiences that help school aged children succeed through reading,” said Sherri Miller, director of literacy programs for Wake County Public School System.
Eighteen of the 20 county libraries are participating in the campaign offering weekly programs, and regional and large libraries will offer monthly events featuring community partners and book discussions. The programs will focus on the arts, science, technology and math which reflect the elementary school curriculum.
