Stories, Local Music, Games at Storytelling Festival

Wake Libraries is partnering with Wake Parks to host the 32nd Annual Storytelling Festival, on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Historic Oak View County Park, 4028 Carya Drive, Raleigh, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring blankets and chairs and listen to creative and clever tales.

There will be three main storytellers: Beth Homer, Ron Jones and Donna Washington. The family-friendly Baron Von Rumblebuss band will perform during the day. In addition, Wake librarians will present story times using the emergent literacy techniques, modeling the Every Child Ready to Read program.

The event will take place rain or shine. Other events include a wagon shuttle and games where children earn tokens to use at the storytelling festival store. A food vendor will also be on site from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This event is free. Go to the Storytelling Festival event page to watch a short video about the event and to view more information, or call 919-856-6725.
