Wake County is helping children and seniors in need this holiday season with its annual program Holiday Cheer. The County will match children and seniors with community sponsors who provide holiday meals and gifts.
“In 2011, the County partnered with more than 250 businesses, civic organizations and individual families to provide holiday meals and gifts for about 2,000 children and 200 seniors for during the months of November and December,” said Denise Kissel, Wake County Human Services resource development specialist. “Our goal is to support at least the same residents this year. We are going to need many partners to help us meet the needs of the community.”
Organizations or individuals wishing to sponsor a family in need should complete the online sponsorship application form
