Wake Honored by Governor's Award Medallion Recipient
Wake County is proud to announce the recipient of the 2014 Governor's Medallion Award, Hannah Rose Moyles, founder of "From Ewe to You." Governor Pat McCrory awarded Moyles, a freshman at Duke University, with this prestigious award April 7, 2014, at the Executive Mansion in Raleigh, along with 20 other recipients. The Medallion Award recipients received a medallion symbolizing their valuable service to the community.

At age 13, Moyles founded "From Ewe to You" to help those in Wake County who are less fortunate. Every month she makes and collects handmade hats, scarves and blankets to donate to local homeless shelters, WakeMed Raleigh Campus, SPCA of Wake County and Heartland Hospice in Raleigh. She also collects food and supplies for local food banks. Moyles and her supporters have served over 10,000 people in the community and hundreds of animals.

The Governor's Medallion Award for Volunteer Service recognizes the top 21 volunteers in the state for their honorable volunteer services in their communities. The recipients are nominated by their county and then evaluated by a panel of community service leaders from across the state.
