The "Mill as Muse" Community Art and Photography Contests

Historic Yates Mill County Park has served as a source of artistic inspiration for more than two centuries and continues to be the subject of local works of art. Share your artistic creations by entering the park’s eighth annual art and photography contests. Contest rules can be obtained at the park, by mail on request and on wakegov.com. The contests are free and include youth and adult categories, with mill, nature and park subjects. Friday, January 31, 6–8 p.m. – Starry Night
Join the American Tobacco Trail staff for a night under the stars, explore local night sky and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. Please bring blankets or chairs and a flashlight. The program fee is $5 per family or $3 per individual, and all ages are welcome. Register through Harris Lake County Park by calling 919-387-4342 or via email at harris.lake@wakegov.com. Meet at the White Oak Parking Area, 1305 White Oak Church Road, Apex.
