The Wake County Board of Commissioners has selected consultant Bob Murray and Associates, based in Tallahassee, Fla., to conduct a comprehensive executive search process for a new County manager. Commissioners interviewed three firms during a special session Monday afternoon, September 23, 2013, before reaching a decision.
"We had a very productive meeting today, and we are pleased to begin working with Bob Murray and Associates to recruit our next County manager," said Board of Commissioners Chair Joe Bryan. "It is a very important process, and both they and we are dedicated to finding the best candidate to keep Wake County moving in the right direction. "It is important that the community is engaged in the search process, and we feel confident that Bob Murray and Associates will work with us and include the public in the process of selecting the new manager."
Devoted to keeping the community updated about the County manager search, the Manager Search section includes:
- a short summary of the County manager's role,
- a hiring process overview, and
- a timeline of the search process with links to related documents.
In late July, current Wake County Manager David Cooke informed Commissioners of his intention to retire at the end of November.
