The Wake County Board of Commissioners will hold a special work session Monday, August 19, 2013, 11:30 a.m., in Room 2800, Wake County Justice Center, 300 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh, to discuss the recruitment process for a new county manager. In late July, Wake County Manager David Cooke told Commissioners he would be retiring at the end of November.
"Wake County is one of the best places in America to live," said Board of Commissioners Chair Joe Bryan, "and we have a tradition of exceptional, professional management leadership.
"The Board is dedicated to an open process that will lead us to the very best candidate, and this work session is the first step toward selecting a new County Manager that is the right fit both for leading our organization but also, most importantly, for serving the people of Wake County."
Cooke and Wake Human Resources Director Angela Crawford will lead the discussion.
