Thursday, September 3 – Teen 2 Teen Logo Contest
The West Regional Teen Advisory Board is sponsoring a contest to design the board’s new logo. The winning logo will go on all Teen 2 Teen items, including t-shirts. Winners will get a free t-shirt, a mystery prize and local notoriety. The contest is open students ages 12 to 18. To register, call 463-8520. Thursday, September 10, 4:30-5-30 p.m. – Cool Crafts for Kids
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to celebrate the art of creativity by making fuzzy head pencils. For information, call 217-5301. East Regional Library is located at 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale.
Wednesday, September 16, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. – Business Counseling
Business counselors from Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) will offer free and confidential counseling to new and existing business owners. Cameron Village Regional Library provides support to businesses with books, databases and professional staff to help them find information as they plan their business endeavors. Saturday, September 19, 3-5 p.m. – Locker Crafts
Students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to learn how to decorate their old school lockers and make them into unique spaces to hold their books and personal items. Teens will be able to make a variety of crafts to decorate and organize their lockers. Those interested must register for this program at the Youth Services desk. Eva Perry Regional Library is located at 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex.
Monday, September 21, 5:30-8 p.m. – Job Search Assistance
Are you looking for a job? Volunteers from Access JobLink AmeriCorps will visit Holly Springs Library on Monday evenings to help patrons with resume writing, job search strategies and interview techniques. Monday, September 21, 7-8 p.m. – Create a Wildlife Habitat
With significant habitat loss due to development and other issues, birds and outdoor critters need help. Saturday, September 26, 11 a.m. – Leesville Branch Community Library Dedication
The Leesville Community Library will officially open its doors to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The 8,000 square foot facility will offer 55,000 books, 20 public computers and programs designed for library patrons of all ages. The library will be surrounded by a 55-acre park, which will be maintained by the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department. Leesville Community Branch Library is located at 5105 Country Trail, Raleigh.
