NEWS: Wake County to Host Open Houses About Southeast Area Land Use Plan Activity Center

Wake County will hold two open house meetings about proposed amendments to the County’s Southeast Wake Area Land Use Plan Map on Wednesday, October 21, and Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Both meetings will take place from 4-6 p.m.

The proposal is to update the County's Land Use Plan Map to replace mixed-use activity center symbols. Activity centers are focal points for community activities like working, shopping, education, recreation, and cultural, civic or spiritual activities. They allow for mixed-use development including residential, commercial, and service uses that support communities.

The proposal would allow planners to identify activity centers on maps by property lines instead of large circles that are currently used.

Wednesday October 28, 2009
Zebulon Fire Department
113 E. Vance Street, Zebulon
