Statement from Wake County Manager David Cooke Regarding Feb. 26 Industrial Accident

“There was an industrial accident at Wake County General Services Fleet Management at approximately 2:30 this afternoon [Tuesday, February 26, 2008] that, unfortunately, did result in the death of a County employee.

"We're not releasing any additional information until we've confirmed that the family has been notified, except to say that there is an OSHA and internal investigation under way, and we're working with all officials to find out what happened as soon as possible.

"Wake County cares very deeply about the individual and the family, and that is where our focus is at this time.”
