FEATURE: Harry Potter-Inspired Rock Bands to Perform at Library
6/17/2009
Fans of the Harry Potter series are invited to enjoy a "Wizard Rock" concert, Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Cameron Village Regional Library, 1930 Clark Ave., Raleigh. The library will host performances by The Remus Lupins and the Whomping Willows. The concert is free and open to all ages.
In 2002, young musicians created the music genre Wizard Rock to tell the stories of the Harry Potter series through music. The lyrics are usually humorous and written about particular characters in the books. Many Wizard Rock bands promote literacy through their music, including The Remus Lupins, "Fight Evil, Read Books."
The event will be held rain or shine, and refreshments will be available to purchase.
