2/20/2008
The Wake Area Business Advisory Council (BAC) will meet Thursday, February 28, 2008, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the Northern Regional Center, Room 163, 350 E. Holding Ave., Wake Forest. Local business professionals, human resources leaders and workforce development professionals are invited to attend BAC meetings.
"Wake Area Business Advisory Council meetings are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the community – whether your business is thinking about expanding to serve Wake Forest and the surrounding communities or if your business is already there," said Human Services Workforce Development Coordinator Janny Flynt.
The February meeting will focus on the Wake Forest area, including an economic development update and an overview of the business happenings, community assets and business resources for the region.
Membership is not required and new visitors may attend at no charge. To RSVP please call 919-212-7594 or e-mail janny.flynt@co.wake.nc.us. Networking and refreshments will begin at 8:45 a.m.
The February BAC meeting will feature the following Wake Forest community members:
- Jodi LaFreniere, Executive Director, Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce
- Ross Yeager, Director, Northern Regional Center, Wake County Human Services
"We are privileged to have two outstanding contributors to the Wake Forest community presenting during this meeting," said John O’Connor, president of Career Pro, Inc., and chair of the Programming Committee for the BAC. "They will spearhead a conversation on employment issues, emerging industries and job opportunities that will be open to Wake County citizens in need."
In 1997, Wake County and several private sector representatives created the Wake Area BAC. The BAC's mission is to develop and promote employment opportunities and resources, for participants of Wake County employment and training programs, through partnering with area businesses.
