NEWS: Job Seekers Invited to JobLink Career Expo Sept. 23

Individuals seeking employment will have the opportunity to meet with potential employers at the WRAL JobLink Career Expo on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S. Salisbury St., downtown Raleigh.
This free event is presented by the Capital Area Workforce Development Board, in conjunction with WRAL. Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring several copies of their resumes for possible on-site interviews.
Participants will have opportunities to meet with recruiters from more than 80 Triangle-area businesses that are hiring, learn about the available community resources and assistance, and participate in the following workshops:
- Linked In and the Big Picture of Networking – Utilizing the Power of Online & Social Networking
- Marketing 101– Leveraging your Resources Effectively
- Steps to Finding the Work You Want After 50 – Tips and Tools for the Older Worker
- Make Your Resume Talk – A One-Page Advertisement
- Find Your Alternative Career – Identifying Transferable Skills
- From Losing Your Job to Owning Your Job – Learn to Think Like an Entrepreneur
- Re-Entry – Connecting Ex-Offenders to Resources
- Protecting Your Credit & Foreclosure Options
- Coping with the Stresses of Job Loss
The JobLink Mobile Unit will also be on hand to review resumes and provide feedback on a first-come, first-served basis.
