NEWS: City of Raleigh, Town of Cary and Board of Education Elections Held Tomorrow

Elections will be held tomorrow, October 6, 2009, for the City of Raleigh and Town of Cary municipal offices and Board of Education. Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In order to be eligible to vote for Mayor or At-Large seats in the City of Raleigh, voters must reside within the corporate limits of Raleigh. Voters must reside in the District to vote in the district contest.
In order to be eligible to vote in the At-Large seat in the Town of Cary, voters must reside within the corporate limits of Cary. Voters in District A or C are eligible to vote in the district contest.
Only Wake County voters residing in Board of Education Districts 1, 2, 7 or 9 are eligible to vote in the Board of Education election.
All voters must vote in their assigned precinct on Election Day.
Due to the low number of eligible voters in Precinct 02-04 and Precinct 08-04, the affected voters have been notified by first-class mail that they will be transferred to an adjacent precinct for the October 6 election:
Precinct 02-04 transferred to Precinct 02-06
Precinct 18-04 transferred to Precinct 18-06
The following precincts will not be open because there are no elections pertaining to these areas on October 6:

To check voter registration and view a sample ballot, voters can visit the Wake County Board of Elections Web site and click on "View Your Sample Ballot" and "Voter Information."
Unofficial election results will be posted on the Wake County Board of Elections Web site when the polls close at 7:30 p.m.
