Wake Libraries Host Teen Scavenger Hunt Online

2/25/2008

Take part in Teen Tech Week with Wake County Public Libraries, beginning Monday, March 3, 2008, by taking part in an online scavenger hunt challenge! You can play online at any computer or at any Wake County Public Library.

Middle and high school students are invited to use their search skills to discover the answers to the scavenger hunt. Nine questions will be posted on our teen blog, "Flip the Switch: Teens aWake," at www.wakegov.com/libraries/teens.

Two questions will be posted each day until Friday, March 7, 2008. Teens are asked to figure out the daily answers and submit them. Participants will need to keep track of their answers in order to solve Friday's literary word jumble. Each day Monday through Thursday a winner with the correct answers will be drawn for an iPod Shuffle. On Friday, a winner with the correct answer will be drawn for an iPod Classic.

Teens will also receive the clue for the word jumble on Friday. They will need to unscramble the letters to figure out a teen tech-related book title and author, then type the answer online and enter to win great prizes, including the grand prize, an XBOX 360.

Game Rules:

  • Contestants must be 12 to 18 years old and must be residents of Wake County.
  • One entry per contestant, per day.
  • One prize per contestant. Four iPod Shuffles and one iPod Classic will be awarded to daily winners. One XBOX 360 will be awarded at the conclusion of the contest, based on correct entries for the word jumble. Winners' names will be drawn randomly from correct entries.
  • Entries for each day's question(s) must be received by midnight to be eligible for prize drawings.

Prizes were donated by SavageGeek, Inc., and the Friends of the Wake County Public Libraries.
